Covert surveillance systems detector GCU-OSD10 is designed for remote detection and display of the location of covert electro-optical surveillance systems (ESS), including night vision devices (NVD) and sniper sights (SS) camouflaged on various items.

This device is equipped with long focus targets (up to 1000 m) and performs counter surveillance under both bright light and night conditions.

HOW DOES THE GCU-OSD10 LENS DETECTOR WORK?

The principle of operation is based on the cat's eye phenomenon (retro reflection), i.e. on the ability of optical objects to reflect the transmitted radiation in the opposite direction at an angle close to the viewing angle.

As the source of transmitted radiation used is the semiconductor IR diode (transmission channel). The reflected signal is recorded by a sensitive CCD video matrix camera.
The transmission channel forms the laser beam in the shape of a rectangle vertically positioned in the scanning field. When necessary and depending on the distance to the observed object, the power of the scan field illumination can be changed to obtain the best image contrast. The sharpness focus is performed by adjusting the lens of the video camera. The management of the device modes is carried out by means of two buttons, and the laser control to change the power of laser radiation. Visualization of the observed object is carried out through built-in pseudo binoculars.
